What is no recourse to public funds?
If you are in the U.K with a student or visitor visa you may not have recourse to public funds, this means you can not claim benefits or apply for housing.
If you have made an asylum or humanitarian protection application to the home office you need to contact the U.K border agency for housing and financial support while your claim is outstanding.
